Hello!

My name is Madison Ellingsworth and I am a ceramicist, editor, and writer. A list of my past and future publications can be found on this website. My work has been nominated for Best of the Net 2025, and I am currently a finalist in Lucky Jefferson’s Poetry and Prose Contest 2025. In 2024, I was the Joy of the Pen Nonfiction Honorable Mention. My short stories and flash are available in over two dozen print and digital publications.

 

I graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor’s degree in English in 2021. I have worked as a freelance manuscript editor, as a Lead Fiction Editor, and as a Managing Editor for several literary magazines. In my free time, I enjoy long distance running, hiking, and traveling. 

 

I have followed a vegetarian diet for the last four years, and feel passionate about animals. I volunteer with a Maine-based animal rights group, Maine Friends of Animals. I also volunteer with a few other nature-focused groups, including Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association and Portland Trails.
